I have been in Tonbridge for about a week now, and I have been thoroughly enjoying it. I have taken it easy for the first few days to ensure that I overcome the flight over and don’t put myself in a hole. One can never be too careful when flying from one end of the work to the other.
Our team is based at Tonbridge School, and the school is phenomenal. That’s the only way I can describe it. The grounds are extremely well looked after, the facilities are top notch, and the people that work here are lovely. I couldn’t ask for more from a pre-Olympic training camp. I’ll put up a few photos of the school ground in a couple days, providing I am allowed, once I have sorted through the massive amount of photos I have taken since arriving.
My preparation is continuing well, and I am happy with where I am at two weeks out. The river trails and manicured school ovals are a dream to train on. It is a very picturesque place to train, and it’s a good distance from the hustle and bustle of a big city such as London. Next week is going to be a solidish week, with a couple of decent sessions, but it’s all about staying fresh now.
