NSWIS athlete Jeff Hunt has been nominated to the Australian Olympic team as part of a six strong marathon team.
Hunt will make his Olympic debut in London, and will have the added pressure of running his third marathon in the space of only six months, a challenge he is looking forward to.
“It’s got to be a lot of mind over matter,” said the 29-year-old Hunt.
“Just because the old boys say you’ve got to recover and take it easy, that doesn’t mean you can’t change the mould.
“There’s no reason why I can’t run at my absolute best in London.”
Hunt will join fellow NSWIS athletes Dani Samuels, Ben St Lawrence and Youcef Abdi on the athletics team for the London Games.
