Running a marathon is definitely something that I would highly recommend every distance athlete experience in their career. It’s pushing your body where, truthfully, they are probably not designed to go.
I, personally, never had an interest in marathons because my heart was with the 3000m steeplechase. I loved to run on the track. That’s where I wanted to make my mark. It’s where I thought I would make my mark. I’m not a believer in destiny, but I believe that Ken felt I was ‘destined’ to become a marathon runner. He was right. Its kind of annoying he was right, but that’s just pride trying to stop me acknowledging that I was wrong.
